dryukang: Dr. Yu Kang, known as “Dr. Yu”, was accepted by Shandong Univ. of Traditional Chinese Medicine as one of the youngest students in school history, at age 15. After eight years of training in Western and Oriental Medicine, Dr. Yu went to China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine to train further in acupuncture and herbal medicine, under the most influential doctors in China. Dr. Yu’s extensive training also includes a master’s degree in Nutrition from Penn State Univ., and a 1 yr. dietetic internship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (part of Harvard Medical School). Dr. Yu is a licensed acupuncturist, a registered dietitian, and a certified herbalist (NCCAOM). For the past 10 years, Dr. Yu has been offering nutritional consultation, individualized herbal prescription, functional exercise and acupuncture from children to elders. She is specialized in women’s health (fibroid, menstrual irregularities, incontinence, endometriosis and menopause); in pain management (fibromyalgia, migraine, osteoarthritis, and sciatica); in chronic disease management (obesity, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, gastritis, bed-wetting, anxiety and ADD).
